Goals
The Pathways to Higher Education program at all Egyptian universities seeks to enhance skills of socially disadvantaged students with the aim of improving their access to higher education and better employment opportunities. To achieve this mission, the Pathways program at Ain Shams University is focused on:
- Improving students' managerial, business and research skills
- Developing courses that "train the trainer" in order to enhance training skills of University teaching staff
Target Population
The University's Pathways program has reached out to students of different faculties at the University who have shown strong commitment to improving their academic abilities and are economically disadvantaged.
Outcomes
To date, the Pathways program at Ain Shams University has:
- Introduced creative methods for student and teacher training
- Developed a partnership with a leading NGO, the Future Group Foundation, to undertake joint training activities
