Goals
An Giang University's Pathways to Higher Education program aspires to help disadvantaged students in the Mekong Delta access and graduate from the University through academic mentorship programs and support services. To provide more students with access to higher education, the University’s Pathways program is focused on developing or improving:

Target Population
The Pathways program has helped the University reach out to disadvantaged students in the Mekong Delta. It has also enabled the University to provide special outreach to historically neglected minority groups like the Khmer and Cham, as well as to low-income students and those in remote, mountainous locations.

Outcomes
To date, the Pathways program:

  • Improved the curriculum and teaching methods for English language and computer science courses
  • Enhanced its admissions policies and recruitment practices
  • Promoted university entrance exam tutoring programs at high schools and ethnic minority boarding schools
  • Provided seminars for high school and university educators on teaching methods for Pathways students
