ABOUT VIETNAM  Situated on the coast of Southeast Asia, Vietnam is home to over 84 million people. As the center of political struggle since the 19th century, the country continues to recover from war and bolster its economy, as its population continues to grow. Though the literacy level is high at 90.3%, Vietnam faces hardships such as out-of-date school supplies, under-qualified teachers, and millions of children out of school.

Pathways to Higher Education programs at institutions throughout Vietnam aim to provide learning opportunities for disadvantaged students who may otherwise not have the opportunity to attend school. Students from ethnic minorities, orphans, those with disabilities, low-income students, or those living in remote areas are eligible for programs provided by Pathways to Higher Education.
